Bible Description and Contents

Size: 9" wide, 10 ½" long, and 3 1/4" thick, hard bound, dated 1811, printed and published by Mathew Carey, Philadelphia.

Printed in large letters inside opposite title page, “Jasper Way 1811"

Enclosed, but originally glued in place together in the back with several blue stationary pages, found on the back side of a blank check of the First National Bank of Fullerton, Neb. (With 191_ pre-printed), is the following attribution in handwriting: “This book is the drawings & oo of Charles O. Judkins, brother of F. O. Judkins.” The book mentioned is an exercise book on blue stationary originally bound together in a brown paper wrapper with map tracings of the states and environs of the New Hampshire area together with several pages of handwritten “exercises” in English composition. This paper appears to be the same as the single additional sheet that was glued into the center of the bible in the family records section. While the “Key for Exercises” appears to be printed in the late 1850's, there is no way to accurately determine when the genealogy data was transcribed.

Also enclosed a printed cardboard “Key for Exercises on Map Of New-Hampshire or Tabular View of the General Geography of the State for the use of schools.” The latest date mentioned contained the following note: Portsmouth Harbor, Mouth of Piscataqua River, one of the best in the U. S. Said not to have been known to freeze over before Friday, January 23, 1857.” Census information is as of 1850.
