I am getting back into Elder genealogy after a long hiatus! : ) and re-read this post. I am wondering what part of the family your bible has information on? Can you let me know in an e-mail to me? at ajames@artic.edu
It's always nice to find people studying the Elders in Maine. So many of the posts are from Pennsylvania Elders.:)

Here is a brief note on how I am descended from Elders in Maine;

Samuel Elder m. ? Huston
their son Isaac Elder m. Mary Hunnewell
their son Isaac Jr? Elder m. 1)Katherine Gilman 2) Mary Quint
Elvahton Elder (son of Isaac and Mary Quint) m. Joanne S. Brackett
their son Samuel Brackett Elder m. Harriet A. Frazier
their son Frederick Eugene Elder m. Mary Emily Griffin
their dau. Grace Denny Elder is my paternal grandmother
