Jesse Coleman is a son to John Coleman and unknown wife of Nottingham, Burlington Co., NJ. (Now called Hamilton Square in Mercer Co. and physically part of Trenton) The will of this John Coleman was probated in Burlington Co. in 1806 and names the following children: John, James, William, David, Rhoda, Jesse, Mahlon, and Barshaba. John Coleman lived in Maidenhead, Lawrence Township where he was elected tax collector in 1753. He bought the farm in Nottingham, which is just a couple of miles away, on 2 Jan 1760 and spent the rest of his life there.
