I don't know what to tell you exactly. The time frame is correct as Elijah was born in March of 1786. But I don't have a George W. Carter as one of his 15 children. I will post what I do have for you to see if that will help you any.

Elijah Carter was born March 29, 1786 in Greene Co., TN and died Sept. 9, 1859 in Gentry Co., MO. He married Susannah Cassel on Aug. 15, 1811 in Greene County, TN. Susannah was the daughter of Peter Cassel and Elizabeth Gragg. Elijah and Susannah had 15 children. Elizabeth, b. Aug 31, 1812;
Vincent, b. Jan. 4, 1814; Saleta, b. Sept. 28, 1815; Jane, b. Dec. 20, 1816 in Campbell Co., TN, died between 1853 and 1911 in Polk Co., IA, married John Burton on Aug 14, 1834 in Rush Co., IN; Nancy, b. Oct 8, 1818; Joseph, b. Feb 1, 1820; Catharine, b. April 25, 1821; John, b. March 3, 1823 in Campbell Co., TN, d. March 20, 1900 in Glenwood, IA, married Amanda Thompson on January 14, 1843; Sarah Carter, b. March 19, 1825; Hiram, b. March 17, 1826; Susannah, b. March 11, 1827; Lewis, b. May 28, 1830; Nathan, b. June 10, 1834; Mary, b. Sept 20, 1835; Martha, b. Aug. 27, 1837.

I hope this is a help. If I dig up anything else I will let you know as I just received some more information recently and have not had time to go through it all. My husband is in the hospital and I just don't have time right now.
