I may be able to add some information to this line. My records have the following:

1. Richard Cheesome- m. Margaret Isham
2. James Chisum- b.abt 1657 New Kent Co Va
d.1698 St Mary's Co Md.
m.Ann Carter 31Aug1678
Somerset Co.MD
son-James Chisum Jr.
son-John Chisum
3. John Chisum - b.1681 Lancaster Co. Va
d.1734 Caroline Co Va
m.Elizabeth Bradley 1703
Richmond Co Va.

My line branches from the above listed James
Chisum Jr.(brother of John) and possibly also known as James (of Caroline) Chisum. I have been able to find little if any information about him and welcome any information. I also know there is a great deal of controversy concerning the Richard
Cheesome connection. My records show that Mary Gum was married to John L. Chism
(great grandson of James Chisum Jr) in Ky
around 1740-1750 and later moved to Alabama.
I hope someone can add to this- especially the identity of the original Chism immigrant
in this line to the US in the 1600's.
