There were Grigsby families in Fauquier Co., Va. in the 1700's.
William Rush married Anne Grey/Gray (dau. of
Frances Grey and Alice Mooreman who were married in Maryland) There is a deed of gift from Frances Grey to William Rush for the love he bore his daughter, Ann, wife of Wm. Rush, Deed Bk. I, Westmoreland Co., Va. p. 78
1658.
Frances Gray also names his daughter, Ann Rush in his will.
William Rush and Anne Grey/Gray Rush had the
following known children:
1. Elizabeth Rush married Joshua Hudson by 03 Jan. 1673/4, deed of gift from Wm. Rush to Joshua Hudson who had married his beloved daughter, Elizabeth land that Frances Grey had given for his beloved daughter, Ann, to her husband, Wm. Rush Deed Bk. 1665-1677, pp. 175-176, Westmoreland Co., Va.

2. Mary Rush married Philip Peyton by 23 April 1678, deed from Wm. Rush to his son in law, Philip Peyton who had intermarried with
his daughter, Mary (200 acres). Deed books from 1678-1690 are missing from Westmoreland Co., Va. so this deed was referred to in a
deed Bk. 1732-1738 pp.183-184 this land was sold in two parcels Dec. 15 Dec. and 21 Dec.
1686. Philip and Mary moved to Stafford Co., Va.

3. William Rush, said to have married Elizabeth Perry. There is a deed of gift from William Rush to his son, William Rush,
this was probably written during the time of
the missing deed book, for this is how this
deed was found:
Northern Neck Land Grants, 1694-1742 by Gertrude Gray "William Rush of Westmoreland Co., Va., son and heir of William Rush, deceased is in possession of 200 acs from his father, 22 Jul. 1689, purchased of Robert Howsen, Grant to Wm. Rush . 10 Jan. 1704.
I will have to look up the Grigsby & Rush marriage to be certain, but I think it was
Benjamin Rush.
