It has been incorrectly stated for 150+ years that Robert Cochran was from New Jersey. This is incorrect
since Robert Cochran was from Pembroke, New Hampshire. He came to Texas in 1834 with his cousin
Thomas Cochran (my ancestor) and Ammon Underwood. Robert never married and had no children as his
estate was administered in Merrimack County, New Hampshire by his father Samuel Cochran, Jr.
Documentation of this is in the DRT Library at the Alamo and it was submitted by my mother as a member
of the Board of Management of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas which manages the Alamo.
Currently the Alamo is in the process of correcting the error concerning Robert Cochran's nativity.

Basil Shannon
