I haven't done research on this line myself (just Internet surfing searches), but check this data to see what you can find:

George Lee/Lea m. Elizabeth Shelton, spinster (means she was over 21yrs), Richard Shelton & George Penn sureties 21 Jan 1772 Amherst Co., VA. This comes from a post to the SHELTON-L mailing list (ROOTS-L) by Barbara Pugh E-mail pugh@rollanet.org. Regarding George Lee, Jr. b. c1783, I found his line in "Descendants of Ambrose Lee" in "History of KY" edited by Judge Charles Kerr published y American Historical Society, Chicago, IL 1922 (archived ROOTS-L messages 1996). George Lee, Jr. also married a SHELTON: Mary SHELTON and had son J. E. Lee b. 1825 who m. Elizabeth MILLER.

George Lee who m. Elizabeth Shelton was reported as a son to Ambrose Lee b. c1732 Amelia Co., VA., d. 1764, m. Frances PENN.

No son Ralph mentioned from the above tree.

There was an Ambrose Lee who sold land to William Dickson in 1828 Logan Co., KY and in 1823 bought 37ac on the Red River from George W. Morton et all. Abrose & Frances Lee did have a son named Ambrose who might have been this person, as did George & Elizabeth Shelton Lee/Lea.

My interest is with the SHELTON/LEE lines of Logan/Butler Co., KY. My SHELTON line comes from Ralph SHELTON of Middlesex Co., VA.
