My 8 month old granddaughter has been diagnosed with a heart ailment of unknown origin. Her parents are being asked if there is possibly any heart disease or developmental delays (milestones in infancy or young childhood not reached at the usual age) in any of the family. The baby's mother is my daughter (one of twins). I haven't seen her father since 1975 and haven't talked to a member of the family since 1999 (when I had made contact through this forum). I have since lost contact again. The family member was Ignacio Cervantes Ramirez and he was living in Mountain View, California at the time. He said that her father had, in addition to her and her sister, five other daughters and a son. Her father was R. Bernardo Cervantes Ramirez, b. 16 April 1952 in Ameca, Jalisco, Mexico. We met in Redondo Beach, CA in 1974. He went back to Ameca in 1975. I had contact with family members until 1981 when I moved with the twins to Missouri. His cousin, Ignacio (Nacho) Cervantes Ramirez (their parents were brothers who married sisters) was b. July 1951 in Ameca. Nacho and Bernardo's grandfather Ramirez was from Italy. The need to know is urgent. The child's heart is badly damaged. She is presently in a hospital in Iowa, where she has been for almost the entire month of December and will remain until a heart becomes available or something happens. I don't usually post messages of this kind in a genealogy forum but I don't really have any idea of what to do. If anyone can give me some ideas, please do so. I have posted in this forum before (in 1999-part of the present post is copied from the other post) and in the Poindexter, Leslie, Fay and Rose forums, as well as appropriate state and country forums, always as a family, not health, search. My apologies for a possibly off-topic message. Thank you. Ella P. Notify Administrator about this message?
