Unusual tombstone

Hi, does anyone know what the significance, if any, of the type of tombstone in the picture at this site?
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=unknown&GSbyrel=in&GSdyrel=in&GSst=12&GScnty=442&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=38887407&
I have seen one other tombstone made in this fashion and there has to be a reason why it was chosen. There is no way to determine who is buried here.
Jeanne
PS If the link does not work go to FindAGrave and type in Unknown in the box for the last name. The tombstone is in Mount Pisgah cemetery.
