Gravesite for Peacock, Thomas and Ann/Anne

Family lore tells us that Thomas and Ann/Anne Paine Peacock died in/near Secor, Illinois, but were buried at Mossville, Illinois. That particular cemetery is abandoned/ wasted.
We have had local historians tell us this several times and have photos of the trashed cemetery. There seem to be no records of the original holdings of this cemetery anywhere. Some graves were moved to another area in Midina Twp. No records of the Peacock's bodies having been moved there.
There once was a church (Methodist) the family followed that faith, which has been torn down in the 80's to make way for the interstate highway. But somehow where are the records from the church? How could all the records dissappear?

Does anyone know how to find the church records? They must have been stored somewhere over time....

Any information will be appreciated!!!
