If you know the surname, or cemetery name, state go to
FINDAGRAVE.COM
Do a cemetery search. you will see that on the right side of the page.Click
Type in the name of the Cemetery.you do not have to type cemetery after the name.
Scroll to the State the cemetery is in. Click Search.
The next page that comes up will be a listing of all the Cemeteries with that name in that State.Pick the cemetery and clicksometime you will find short bio's and tombstone and portraits or old family pictures as memorials.
Example:
McClain
Tennessee
click
Select the county the cemetery is in. In this case Lewis
So I click McClain Cemetery Lewis Co. Tn326 interrments
It will take you straigt to that cemetery.Try it.You will be surprised how much genealogy information you can find.St. John's in Maury Co. Tn (Ashwood) Columbia.
Has many very very old tombstone pictures with lots of history about the CW veterans buried there and of course members of the James K. Polk family. (11 Pres. of the U>S>)
I do not mean to insult by giving step by step instructions, when I first tried looking for cemeteries I had just gotten my pc and it took me forever to understand how to get the information I was searching for.
Hope this information will be helpful to you.
