You're probably looking for All Faiths. My mother's side of the family has a plot there. I don't know how keen they are to doing searching or how easy it is for them to search for a specific name, but here's contact info.
All Faiths (Lutheran All Faiths) Cemetery
Middle Village, Queens County, New York
6729 Metropolitan Avenue
Middle Village, NY 11379
(718) 821-1750
From an article on newsday.com re: the 'cemetery belt' of Queens and surrounding areas:
" The Rev. Frederick William Geissenhainer, pastor of St. Paul's German Lutheran Church in Manhattan, bought 225 acres in Middle Village in 1852 for a cemetery to serve Lower East Side immigrants. Members decided to call it the Lutheran Cemetery although it was open to all faiths. It became the final resting place for the 1,021 victims of the excursion boat General Slocum, which burned and sank during a Manhattan Sunday School outing in 1904. Today, it's the All Faiths Cemetery and most of its interments are Italian with some Hispanic, African-American and Jewish, said chief executive officer Daniel Austin."
I _may_ be taking a trip to this cemetery this autumn, but am not sure yet. It's only become a possibility over the past couple days. If you can find the plot that this marker would be in, I would not be adverse to finding it and taking a photo for you. Please feel free to respond directly to me, [email protected] , as I don't know if I'll come back to this website in the near future. Just registered so I could reply to you.
