Hi Patricia -
.. I'm down in Ocean City.(A guy I work with goes to Maine evey year on vacation-he Loves it!)
- I was thinking.. (yes, painful) but since Omaha is such a large city, maybe a Lot of libraries have their papers on microfische... the larger Libraries anyway. You might call around to some major cities in Maine or another state near you and find out.Your phone bill might be a little larger than normal, but it would be cheaper than driving out there and finding nothing.
- Also the US Archives have branches all over the States.I think the LDS has a list of them by State. They would certainly have what you need. This way, you could get the info, then find a Headstone Hunter to photograph it for you - or if you're still determined, you could drive out there, but at least you will know where you're going when you get there.(Which Cemetery)
- The LDS is the Latter Day Saints' site, but you can go directly to the US Archives site too.I personally have difficulty navigating it, but did learn how to find the branches around the country.
- Its worth a shot anyway - save yourself a week in Omaha checking all the cemeteries!
Good Luck,
Mary
