Kathie, I am a descendant of Joseph Cella, son of Antonio Cella (1812) & Maria Bianca Cella (Poggio Temossi) b. 1822. My great great grandfather mentions his brother "Antonio Bernero," and he (Joe) ran a bar in Chicago in the late 1800's/early 1900's. Children from 2 marriages: one to Rose Gandolfo produced Rose, Antonio, and Frank, the one to Carolina Botto produced Eva, Joe (my grandfather), Laura, David, Louis, Ed, Charley, Bill, and John. Joe, Senior wrote down some details about the Bernero line which I will be happy to share. You can contact me directly at [email protected]. I have a recent and fairy complete history/list of our branch from Joe's arrival in 1884--would love to share notes on the Italian branches!
