You have a very attractive website! I am confused, though. I have never found any sort of good documentation suggesting that the father of the John Cecil who wed Elizabeth Sollers was anybody but William Cecil of Prince George's County. He was most probably not related to the Catholic Cecils of St. Mary's County. Since this is my line, I would be very interested in finding any documentation on this issue. There is, in fact, some documentation that Thomas, son of the Earl of Exeter, never even had a son. I know that there are a LOT Of genealogy pages out there who make the Exeter/Susan Oxenbridge to John Cecil of St. Mary's County connection, but I believe it to be invalid. In fact, recent DNA evidence suggests that the John Cecil/Eliz Sollers line is NOT descended from the St. Mary's Cecils---but that they were related a couple of generations prior to leaving England. The y chromosome DNA from male descendants of the William Cecil line (via John/Eliz Sollers), the St. Mary's John Cecil Catholic line, and the Exeter line may be related, but only for a few generations prior to immigration to America.
