Thanks Scott. I'm sure when I find that "jackpot" I will make the Barnes connection to this family. According to Charles Henry Cearley, the last son born to James Ervin and Sarah in 1910 the reason James and Nancy came to Texas was "letters received from people named Barnes telling them of the good land in Texas and to come". There are 3 people named Barnes buried in the cemetery that James and many of his family and descendants are buried in.

I really appreciate your reply and hope others will help out on this name.
