John A. Cazlet (cazalet) was born about 1831. His father was born in New Jersey and his mother in Ireland. He appears in the 1860, 1870, 1880 census living in Brooklyn. He is a carver, steward, and restaurant operator. He married Mary (perhaps Buttenham) abt. 1855. They had nine children: Nathaniel, John, Emma, Sara, Thomas, George, Charles, Hannah and Robert.
Nathaniel married Ellen Gillen about 1877. Their children were William Nathaniel, Emma and Florence.
Emma married a Payne.
Sara married a Smith.
Thomas married Mae F. Petrie. Both died in Kerney, New
Jersey and are buried in Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Orange County, NY. They had one daughter named Lillian.
George married Josephine Clinton Hill(second marriage). George's first wife may have been named Florence. His children by Josphine were George David, who married Genevieve McGrath, Thomas Abraham, who married Jennie Shannon, Cecilia M., who may have married Ben Downing, Harriet C., who married Elmer Shannon and died in Florida (children Thomas and Robert), and Arthur Weir, died Feb. 11, 1969 and buried in Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.

Robert died at four.
John A. had two brothers or cousins, William and Samuel. william was born about 1852. Both Williams parents were born in New Jersey.
I can find no records of any Cazalets in New Jersey.
I am also looking for info about Peter Cazellett, who was born about 1749 in New York. He married Elizabeth Burns on Aug. 16, 1769 in the French Huguenot Church in New York City.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
