Hi, my name is Rebecca Davis. My grandfather was Arthur Leroy Caywood. He was the first of five children born to Emmett Caywood and Hazel McDougal. Emmett ran out on his family when Hazel was pregnant with #5 and my granfather never wanted to know anything about his fathers side of the family. We never pushed it. My grandfather died in 2006 and I have been trying to find info on his fathers family. The only info we had was that his fathers name was Emmett Caywood. I had not been able to find out anything on Emmett and hit a wall. My grandmother, Alice Montene Holland Caywood passed away on 11/9/2010 in Elmira and while there for the funeral came across a death certificate for a James Caywood. His wife Bertha Caywoods signature is on the death certificate. This has opened up a whole new world for me to do more research. I came across your notification here on this site and you had alot more info than what we ever had. Are you related to the Caywood family? Do you have any more info that we could use? My Uncle James Caywood runs Caywoods Funeral Home and Gardens in Southport (Elmira). I would be very interested in talking to you. Thank you for posting the info that you had. Rebecca Davis
