My name is Joyce Fort Trammell & a descendant of Owen Fort from Jefferson co. Ga.......could you give me clue as to why Ashley ended up in Louisiana?
Also, I was on Ancestry.com: someone gave info that Elizabeth C. Fort didn't die until 1839, which seems unlikly to me;but maybe there was a divorce. Could you help clear this up for me.
