John Cawley (NB, NC 1832)

I have a letter from a Sergeant John Cawley, St John's N.C. 12/1/1832. He arrived in about 1831, about 25 miles from St John's in Hardwood Hill (about 34 miles from the sea). He was from Richmond Mayo (where I John Cawley lived. I have no other information except that he was given a grant of land there (there being Cranberry Lake at the back of his land)and was determined not to move from there. I would appreciate contact with any who know of him or his descendants or indeed any who know the place where he settled. His letter does not refer to a wife or family although he speaks of many details including the wages, crops, circumstances and neighbours.
