Kathy,

My great great great grandmother was Nancy Cavett. She married Joseph Lones in the early 1800's.

Last weekend I visited Mars Hill Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee where she and Joseph are buried.

In the small graveyard is a historical marker, placed by the Sons of the American Revolution, depicting the heroism of Alexander Cavett and his family during a raid by the Cherokee and Creek Indians in the late 1700's.

According to all my research there is a lot of confusion about where the Cavetts operated. Was it Tennessee or Alabama ? Are Moses and Richard brothers? How are they kin to Alexander, and from my prospective, how is my Nancy connected to Richard, Moses Sr., Moses Jr., Richard and Thomas Cavett?

I will greatly appreciate any help that you might give me in this scenario.

Thanks,
Randy Peltier
