Sarah, wife of William Caviness
Patricia:
I sent you a previous email but now that I've found more information from you on GenForum.com, I have another question. On your posting dated 2/1/2003, you mentioned Sarah Carr (not Carr, but another maiden name) and her orphans, I have this question:If she married William Caviness and their son was the father to my Rebecca Caviness, they would be related to the Moffitts; because Rebecca Caviness married Alfred D. Moffitt.I've been trying to connect Rebecca Caviness to whom her parents could be and came up with Col. Benjamin Sanders Caviness and his wife Delilah Allred (if this correct, I'm not sure). Then I looked at Benjamin Sanders Caviness' parents being William Caviness and Sarah Carr.I know this sounds like a 'round about way', but if Hugh Moffitt is mentioned as one of the men appointed by the court to look into the estate of Sarah, I think we might be on the right track (or maybe not -- I'm not sure, just grabbing on to straws here).Do you think you can help me solve this puzzle?I would appreciate any information that could point me in the right direction.
Thanks so very much, Shirley
