I am trying to clear up several questions regarding the family tree of William Y. Cavin. I have the family bible of James Y. Cavin (William Y.'s third son)that he purchased July 14, 1865. In it are the names, birth dates and some deaths of most of the family. He was apparently relying on his memory as there are some dates names and ages that either do not make sense or agree with the census information. William Y. seems to have 17 childern to his credit, the first born when he was 24 and the last when he was in his 70's! It looks as though he may have had a brother, but I have no other info on their parents or where they originated. Here are the names as listed in James Y.'s bible....

William Columbus Pressley Jun 14, 1868 - Sep 7, 1962

William Columbus Pressley was my great grand father. The story is that his mother died when he was born and his father (William Y.) left the farm and baby for the two oldest daughters living at home to raise and care for. the old man - now in his 70's moved to China Grove, married and had another child. A son named Samuel.

Any additional information is greatly appreciated. I have a lot of William Y. Cavin tax reciepts and various other paperwork that I am going through now.
