My gg-grandmother was Emily Janette Dowd. I have a great deal of information on the Dowds who came to America in 1639. Henry Doude and wife settled in Guilford, CT at that time. I also have information on John Cavin and son Steven Oscar Cavin. John and Emily moved to Texas together. Land records in Cooke County, TX indicate that he owned land there that was passed to Emily upon his death. Emily was married three times 1)Alexander Cavin, 2)James H. Berry, and 3)John Cavin. Alexander and John were brothers; John the elder brother. James H. Berry was my gg-grandfather. Emily raised my grandfather (Joseph LeRoy Bradburn) and his sister (Nancy Bradburn) after their mother Frances Emily Berry Bradburn died about 1882-83.
