Hi Brenda! You and I have crossed paths before, but I am researching the Cavin family in the early 1800s, and you seem to be involved with the Cavins in the last half of the century. I am wondering if you heard the stories about Joseph being called a Dutchman and that the family was Black Dutch from me, or whether that information came to you from somewhere else. My ggg-grandfather, Joseph Cavin, was called a Dutchman. His daughter was referred to as Black Dutch. They lived in Polk County, Mo. This Joseph Cavin had a son named Joseph, and your Mary may have been a granddaughter of my ggg-grandfather. Maybe we can work together to get the different generations tied together. Charlotte
