John Cavendish/Corjeage from Isle of Man

Does anyone have ancestors from the Isle of Man with the surname Cavendish or Corjeage? Another variation is Quartaige. I heard that Quartaige was changed to Corjeage in the 1600's because it was easier to say phonetically at a time when many people didn't read or write. Then it was anglicized and became Cavendish when my ancestor John Cavendish came to America in the 1830's.
