Looking for information/descendants of John Cave alias neil born about 1853/54 in Newton Stewartm Wigtown, Scotland, probably the illegitimate son of Barbara Neil/McNeil & John Cave (said to have been a coachman). In 1873, John Cave als Neil married Robina Willoughby and had 11 children before emigrating. In 1904, John travelled from Glasgow and entered through Ellis Island. In 1909, he made another trip coming from Kilmarnock this time, and brought with him wife Robina, son John (b 1888: married Jessie Shillito) and daughter Ina (1891). John & Robina's eldest son, Charles Willoughby Cave (1873) had emigrated in 1897, and entered through Ellis Island with wife Elizabeth (1874) and children - John (1895) & Elizabeth (1896) and also with an Agnes Cave, spinster (born 1878. She does not appear to be his sister as sister Agnes Cave was born in 1909 and married twice (first to Thomas Gray, then to John Sabiston: a Thomas C Sabiston married her sister Robina). IN 1912, John & Robina's son, Alexander W (1883) emigrated from Liverpool, but was resident in Greenock. In 1915, his wife Margaret L (1888) made the same journey with daughter Agnes (1909). I have a suspicion that it is this Agnes who married Gray & Sabiston, but need confirmation! Another son, James Adams Cave (1886) appears to have meigrated but I have no details of dates, etc. By 1916, James Adams was married to Theresa Gregerson, and they had son George Valentine (born 14 Feb 1916) who married Frances Matthes and had Kevin (married Nancy Senger), George (married Susan Loback) and Judy (married Hohen Adell). Would appreciate few more dates on this group! I suspect James Adams Cave was named after his step-grandfather! Barbara Neil/McNeil married in 1865 in Scotland to James Adams, and had three children - James, Mary Ann and Thomas. Does this family turn up anywhere close to the Cave family mentioned above?
