I have some information on William Withers which may tie him to both my ancestors, Elizabeth Cave and Nehemiah Hundley, who were married in Orange, VA in August of 1790. Nehemiah had served as a private in the Company of a Lt. William Withers at Fort Pitt in 1779 for which he later received a Revolutionary War pension. Elizabeth (Cave) Withers had a son named William. Have you found out anything more about the life of your William Withers? It might be the same person who commanded a company in 1779 at Fort Pitt and somehow is connected by blood to Nehemiah's wife Elizabeth Cave. I have no information about my Elizabeth Cave other than her marriage to Nehemiah Hundley in St.Thomas Episcopal Church in Orange, VA on Aug. 4, 1790. Thanks for any help and will share any information that I have.
