Carolyn: Sorry for the tardiness in replying to your message. I just returned from a 6 weeks trips across the Pacific Northwest, so was off-line for quite a while. Page County, Va, Courthouse records show a marriage date for James Cave and Catherine Stanley in 1837. She was living in Pine Grove Hollow with her brother, John H. Stanley and his wife, Eliza Bailey Stanley prior to her marriage. She was born in Hanover County, Va. and located to what is now Page County, Va. about 1832. Her parents were deceased prior to her marriage to Jimmy Cave in 1837. Most likely, her parents were deceased prior to her relocation to Page County about 1832.
Her brother, John H. Stanlet was married twice. His first wife was Eliza Bailey. His second wife, after the death of his first wife was Mary Polly Lucas. John H. Stanley died in December 1877. Almost all the Stanley's in Page County today are decended from this first John H. Stanley in 1832. My father was born and raised in Page County, Va. He passed away in November 2000.
