Tradition in the families of Bartlett Cave of VA, then Surry Co NC and then Jackson Co MO, and Abner Cave of VA, then Green and Hart Co KY is that this John Cave and Bartlett and Abner were brothers. I am certain that Abner was a son of William and Geriah Cave of VA and then Green Co KY. William was a son of Robert Cave d.1755 in VA.William left a will which mentioned Abner but not Bartlett or John.
