Regarding your posting about the Dark Hollow Va. Caves, the wife of James Cave was Catherine "Caty" Stanley. They married in 1837 and per her Marriage Bond in the Page County, Va. Records Office, she was of legal age and her parents were deceased per a sworn statement by her brother, John H. Stanley. John H. Stanley married Eliza Bayley of Page County, Va. in 1833 and is the patriarch of almost all current Stanley's living in Page and Rockingham County, as well as some parts of Augusta Co. Despite years of research, I have not been able to locate names of the parents for John H. Stanley or his sister, Catherine Stanley, or their place of birth. Do you have any information regarding Catherine's parents?
I am the GG Grandson of this John H. Stanley. My G Grandfather was John E. Stanley. My Grandfather was Luther Mikel Stanley and my father is Freelyn V. Stanley, Sr., all born and raised in Page County, Va.
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
