Hello Mitchell.
I have done some reading on the Cave name and the oridgin of names in my personal genealogical efforts, My findings jive with my memories during my youth in England. When you went to visit a Cave family it was common to say somthing like this. Lets go and visit the Caves, in time the family name became Caves because thats the way everybody knew them.
Thats my story and I`m sticking to it.
Have fun, Mike Cave.
