Cave Family History
Hello and hopefully we can find what you are looking for together.
I am a Descendant of the Cave Family. My Mother Cleta Irene Caves (with the S added) married Donald Clarence Rogers.Cleta Irene Caves parents are Martie W. Caves and married Estella Beulah Simmons.Merritt H. Cave born about 1852/1855who married Jenny Swisher. (Jenny may be nickname) are the parents of Martie W. Caves. Now, Martie W. Caves had Siblings: Theodore Arther Caves born October 1904, George Swisher Caves born 6/6/1901, Myrtle Lorena Caves born May 25, 1903 and Panzie Caves who married Theordore Christian Tychson. Panzie was born in Kentucky.I received this information from [email protected] and have very little information about the Cave Family. In fact, both my late mom Cleta Irene (Caves) Rogers and her brother Ernest Caves of Galsburg searched for over half their lives for the burial place of their grandparents Merrit H. and Jenny Caves. Jenny Swisher (Caves) might be buried next to her father Absolum S. Swisher in the Amen County Cemetery near Kellerville in Adams County Illinois. The Amen Cemetery is located on land that was formerly the Absolum Swisher Family Farm. Children of this Caves Family were born in both Illinois and Missouri, some possibly in Arkansas and Kentucky. Merritt H. Caves made two trips to California during the gold rush and family lore has it he died in a forrest fire in the Mark Twain National Forrest.I am in search of other living family members and any information about my heritage I can find. I still hope to find where my mom's grandparents are buried.
