Dear Tharell: Thanks for the info. When my great-grandfather, William Hale was 5, he was in the 1880 census in Linden, Christian County, MO. Living close by was a Cave family. Several families living next to this Cave family are all related to each other. I was hoping that this meant that they were related to the Cave family. I cannot prove it. My Great-grandfather William Hale had a great-grandfather, Reuben Hale, who was born 1802 in Tennessee, who lived in Smith County, TN, for awhile. Reuben then moved here in Missouri than moved to California where he died in 1873. I have been trying for a long while to find out who Reuben's parents were. I hope that some day to find out. I was hoping that tracing back the Cave family would tell me who Reuben's parents were some way. If you know anything about the Cave family of Linden, Christian County, MO, please send it to me. Any info would help. Thanks for your help. brian in springfield mo
