CAVANAUGH - Caldwell Co. TX
Posted by: Vickie Carter Date: August 08, 1998 at 18:18:26
  of 1123

Looking for information on Albert CAVANAUGH and his family.
They were mulatto, mixed Native American and Freedman.
Albert was born in the late 1800's, probably the mid 1890's. His mother was named Susan CAVANAUGH, (his father died when Albert was a boy and we don't have his name) and his ggrandmother was Johanna CAVANAUGH, the latter being a former slave.
Albert married a woman named Ollie COSEY from Luling, Caldwell Co. TX. Ollie was also of mixed heritage. Her father Nelson COSEY was half Freedman and half Native American, we don't know what tribe, but references have been made to either Cherokee or Choctaw.
Albert still has one son living named Tony CAVANAUGH and he is in San Antonio TX in a nursing home and really doesn't remember much at all.
Thanks to anyone who can provide some help regarding the mystery.
