The parents of Elizabeth Kavanaugh/Cavanaugh was James P Kavanaugh, Sr and Elizabeth whose maiden name may be Thweat.

James P Kavanaugh is the son of Charles Kavanaugh, Jr and Frances Powell. Charles Kavanaugh, Sr and Charles Kavanaugh, Jr were both Mehtodist Ministers.

James P and Elizabeth Kavanaugh had three known children:
Elizabeth Kavanaugh born November 24th, 1809 who married Jesse Embrey

Mary Ann C Kavanaugh was born May 13th, 1812 who married David Whitaker.

James P Kavanaugh, Jr born March 29, 1815.

Jesse Embrey became the legal guardian of Mary Ann and James P Kavanaugh in Madison Co, TN by 1819. Final account January 1835 in Madison Co, TN.
