My mother was Irene Cavanaugh Vega and she died suddenly a year ago. I regret not asking her more about her family history.
Her father, George Cavanaugh, died about 1962. I was around two years old. He lived in Cohoes, NY (near Albany)in 1920's. He was married to a French Canadian woman, Elizabeth Mosseau and they two children --- one my mother and Alfred (who also passed away).
Members of my father's family tell me George was a wonderful, happy, friendly, warm person just like my very sweet mother.
I don't know anyone from my mother's family and it would be great to find a connection.
