Scott, I can not find Charles in Surry Co. in 1724. Have you Deed Book and page? My info has Arthur with a group 21 April 1695 on 888 acres in Up. Parish of Nansemond Co.VA. The first mention of his wife Mary is 20 April 1709, on the Meherrin River in ye County of Albemarle when he bought 1280 acres. He also appears in Chowan Precinct in 1707 and 1715 and with Gerraud Cannah or Cavnah in Henrico Co. north of the James River in 1714 (Cavaliers and Pioneers of VA. page156.) After that he stuck close to the Mehherin River and by court records ( witness of deeds and such) knew the same people as Charles. I have a copy of the inventory of household goods after his death and am glad to know that a will exists. What is the relationship of Charles and Arthur? Charles father is supposed to be yet another Charles who held 40,000 acres in Essex Co.,VA but I can't find that either. Document,Document,Document. Harold
