I am very interested in your Cavanagh family. My 4x-g-grandfather was John Mooney, Elizabeth (Betsey) Cavanagh's half-brother who came to Canada in 1819 with his four daughters. His first wife was Ann Hodgins. They married in 1811 in Tipperary and she died in Ireland. I am excited to get the information on his other siblings and the names of his mother and step-father. Another source has indicated that his father was William John Mooney and his mother Esther Donnelly but I don't know where that information originated. Did you get their names from family records?

I am trying to make a connection with the Hodgins family from the same area that came to Canada at the same time as I believe it likely that John's wife Ann must have been connected to them.

I would be very interested in hearing from you and sharing information.
