I'am interested in these James River Cawthorn's also as my ancestor John Cawthorn 1745 - 1792 was from Goochland and was married there in 1765. He later moved to Prince Edward County, Virginia. I'am interested in the origins of this family as they seemed to have moved from the Hanover, King William section of Virginia. I believe they are members of the more well to do Essex Family but have only found one connection. I will search and see if I have any record of Eadith Cawthorn. thanks terry
