Elizabeth Cauthen who married Wylie Horton is listed in Mrs. Westenhaver's book with the following information.

Elizabeth Cauthen, the first child of Thomas Cauthen, Jr., and his wife Nancy Stevens, and granddaughter of the Revolutionary Patriot Thomas Cauthen, married Wylie Horton. About 1842 they moved to Shelby Co., Alabama. Their Family Bible was preserved by Mr. I.P. Mason, Stockton, Alabama. In 1951 he sent to Henry F. Cauthen of Columbia, S.C. a copy of the record in it as follows:

Wylie Horton b. February 13, 1800 in Lancaster District, S.C. d. August 17, 1875 in Shelby Co., Ala. m at Hanging Rock Methodist Church in S.C. on January 18, 1820 to Elizabeth Cauthen b. July 24, 1804 in Kershaw District, S.C. d May 1880 in Shelby County, Ala.
Henry Cauthen Horton b. August 23, 1821 d. June 12, 1881
Thomas Horton b. August,1823 d. 1862 in CSA
Irwin Cole Horton b. May 1, 1825
Mial Ingram Horton (son) b. April 13, 1827
Margaret Matilda Horton b. November 8, 1828 d. January 31, 1908
William Kennedy Horton b. September 9, 1832 d. August 20, 1910
Cynthia Ann Horton b. August 17, 1834
Eliza Missouri Horton b. December 25, 1837
Nancy Loueza Horton b. April 5, 1839 d. August 17, 1919
Elizabeth Vanlandingham Horton b. 1841 d. March 12, 1928
Lewis Marion Horton b. April 28, 1844 d. February 12, 1931
Sarah Drucilla Horton b. October 15, 1847 d. August 6, 1924
(The last two children born near Goodhope Church, Shelby County, Alabama)
