I have seen a John W. Cother b1815 in KY d 1875 in AL Father Jesse Cother pickens Co AL Family was also there then to Monroe Co MS. I have seen this name spelled Cotner , Coulter, Coather, Cotter, Cauthen, Cather, Cothern all this on Deed indexes that later prove by signatures to be Cother. Not saying this is the case and you are looking for Cother just , that is how it was back then. Hardly anyone could spell.
