Here is a 1850 Census for Grimes County Tx...maybe this will help someone..I am still trying to find the connection to my Cauthens...If anybody finds a connection to these Cawthons listed here,would you please e-mail me and let me know ..

Aurela 24 Fem Ala
S.F. 5 Fem Tex
J.W. 3 Mal Tex
C.A. 1 Fem Tex
Jacob Grimes 28 Male Ala (in same Household)

R.H.Cawthon (PHD) 37 Mal N.C.
James P. (PHD) 22 Mal Tenn..

All in the same household with E.W.Cawthon..I have been told that my grandfather is kin,but where I still haven't figured out yet...
