My grt-grt grandmother had a sister named Alice Cauthen born in Lancaster, SC. She married Joe Vaughn. Well the story goes that Alice and Joe had a son and not too long after, Alice decided that married life wasn't for her. She gave the son away to a family of Lowery's and told her family she was moving to Rock Hill, SC where she would contact her family after she was settled and had found work. (I don't know why Joe didn't
keep the son) Well, she was never heard from again. Noone knows if she remarried or moved away or what! Can anyone help me solve this mystery. Please E-Mail me at Steelesmhp@infoave.net I do know that her son looked for Alice until he died around 1950. Thank You!
