Thanks, Ed. It's possible that she was known by the EARLE family as Elizabeth but under a different given name within her own family records.

She did inherit the estate home that John EARLE built at "SPRING NECK" as the 2nd larger house a short while after building their first smaller one. My 7th great grandfather, Samule EARLE, I, inherited the plantation.

This Elizabeth ? CAUSEY/CAWSEY HOWEL EARLE CLEMENT may not have been an altogether nice individual as, while I know they married soon after the death of a spouse in many cases, she married William RUST only a few weeks after the death of John EARLE. Perhaps because of this or something else, Mary EARLE, sister of my Samuel EARLE, petitioned the court to have her guardianship given to her stepmother revoked which the court did. Mary EARLE married her family's lawyer, Martin COLE, after the death of his wife and after the court had given guardianship of Mary over to him and they moved back to England.

And, of course, I guess it would have been entirely possible that this Elizabeth's name wasn't even Elizabeth at all.

I just keep hoping finding more information on her might reveal some other missing pieces of information about other family lines.

Thanks for your responses, Ed.

Bellinda
