Surely "Allen Causey" can't be THAT common of a name... Can anyone help me with my g-g-grandfather Allen Causey? Born 1822 in AL, probably near the present day area of Coosa or Talladega County. Married Sarah Ann Phurrough in 1842 in Talladega County, AL. Enumerated on the 1850 census in the Hatchett Creek District of Coosa County, AL. Enumerated on the 1860 census in Enterprise, Clarke County, MS. Enumerated on the 1870 census in Bienville Parish, LA. Enumerated on the 1880 census in Lincoln Parish, LA (Lincoln Parish formed in 1873 from part of Bienville Parish.) Per Bible record, Allen Causey died in August of 1893 "while on a trip to AL to visit relatives". Allen Causey and Sarah Ann Phurrough were the parents of: William M., Thomas J., Easther, Jackson Sherwood, Morgan Sylvester and Lovey Ann Causey. This Allen Causey was probably the son of John Causey and Rebecca Roberson/Robertson, who married in Putman Co. GA in 1810. John & Rebecca moved to AL about 1821 or so. John & Rebecca were the parents of: Sarah, Elizaeth, Allen, William Henry, John/Jackson, Lucinda, Martha, David, and two unnamed males, b. 1810-1820 in GA, and of whom I have NO earthly idea of their names. Up to this point, I have fairly good documentation. The parents of this John Causey is where it gets fuzzy. This John Causey was b. abt. 1790 in VA or NC. He was listed twice in the 1850 Coosa Co. census, in two different districts, the same age (60), one lists VA, the other NC as place of birth. Some suggest this John Causey may have been a son of Ezekial Causey (d. 1821 Jefferson Co. GA) and Elizabeth Clary (d. abt. 1832 Jefferson Co. GA). However, no proof of this that I can find. Can anyone fill in any blanks on either Allen Causey or his father John Causey? I would love to be able to tie John Causey to an earlier generation...
