All of you Cosby Folks, there is an Ahnentafel report which goes back 21 (!!!!) generations. based on the work of many Cosby researchers and followed up by Lennie Nutter Alspaugh, who published her findings in a book. Much of this information is available through the LDS Family Centers. I was able to order from Salt Lake City. a copy of the handwritten records of Dorcas Sidney Cosby of Stradbally Hall in Ireland. She gives the names, dates, location of the births and Christening information of all of her many children. They were not Irish , as they had been granted the land by the King of England. Some of the Cosby descendents were still living in the home at Stradbally 400 years later.May still be there.
I do not have the facilities to send you all of the info I have, though I wish I could because someone was kind enough to send them to me.It consists of a three ring binder filled.
My connection is through Jane Cosby (b.1829 Louisa Co.VA)daughter of Charles Scott Cosby (b.1746 d.1795 Mercer Co.KY) and Barbara Byers of Louisa Co.,VA.She married Isaac Joshua Alspaugh in KY.
It was Dorcas who is responsible for all of our Cosby blood in America. Her second husband was Mr.Zouche, who had been granted thousands of acres of land in VA which had to be settled. Guess who helped settled it. Some later settled in Charleston, then moved on to KY. Hope this is helpful.
