I have traced the Causby family to Nether (Lower) Wichendon in 1761.

This is where John Causby (Gosby, Cosby) married Elizabeth. John was born in 1761 and died in 1842 aged 61. The family had a farm in the village and even though the name was spelt Causby it was pronounced Gosby.

I can not find out where the family came from or what the meaning of the name is. I have been told the name originated in France but can not confirm this.

Any information would be appreciated whether the decendants are from England, France or America.
