Dear Lisa,
I hope this helps:
Spelling variations of this family name include: Crosby, Crosseby, Crosbie, Crossby, Corsby and many more. First found in Wigtownshire, where they were seated from very ancient times, some say well before the Norman Conquest and the arrival of Duke William at Hastings in 1066 A.D. Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Anthony Crosby settled in Rowley in 1643; he was a surgeon. Simon Crosby came in the "Susan and Ellen" sailing ship in 1635; and settled in Braintree, he became a freeman in 1636.

Motto: Resurgam

Motto Translated: I shall rise again

Crest: The stump of an oak tree growing out of a mount

Coat of Arms: A red shield with a gold cross

Cosby means: Cossas Farm

I would love a copy of any line you may have so that I can add it to ours...Thank You, God Bless
